National Simultaneous Storytime 2026

Our students enthusiastically participated in this year’s National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) on Wednesday 27 May at 12:00 pm, joining schools and libraries across Australia in celebrating the joy of reading, imagination, and storytelling.

This year’s featured book was Luna Roo the Kangaroo Ballerina by Adam Wallace, illustrated by Adrian Beck and Jake A. Minton. The story had students laughing, learning, and reflecting on its important message about perseverance and never giving up on your dreams.

Following the reading, many students were inspired by the illustrator’s creativity and eagerly followed step-by-step drawing instructions to create their own versions of Luna Roo. It was wonderful to see students engaging with both the story and the artistic process, producing some fantastic artwork.

National Simultaneous Storytime was a fun and engaging experience that encouraged a love of reading while fostering creativity and imagination throughout our school.
