Principal's Message

Dear Families

As we reach the end of Term 2, I would like to reflect on a busy and rewarding term filled with a variety of extra-curricular and talent development programs. Our students have embraced many opportunities to challenge themselves and grow in confidence and skills.

Over the course of the term, students participated in the Premier’s Spelling Challenge, the Multicultural Public Speaking Challenge, and competed in the interschool debating competition. Our talented dancers showcased their skills at the Southern Tablelands Dance Festival, while our PSSA Soccer Knockout team demonstrated great sportsmanship and determination. Our Year 6 students ventured into transition programs at Goulburn High and Mulwaree High Schools, preparing for the exciting next phase of their education.

During Reconciliation Week, students engaged in meaningful activities celebrating diversity and unity. For NAIDOC Week last week, our students created collaborative artworks inspired by Aboriginal texts. We are proud to announce that these artworks will be displayed around the school next term for all to appreciate and celebrate.

Congratulations to our Year 5 and 6 students for their excellent leadership during our weekly Peer Support Sessions throughout Term 2. It has been wonderful to watch their skills and confidence grow. Many thanks to Mr Harradence and Mrs Lang for their dedicated leadership of this valuable program.

We also recognise and thank our outgoing Student Representative Council members for Semester 1. To celebrate their service, they enjoyed a well-deserved pizza lunch on the last day of term.

Thank you to all students and families who have contributed to our outstanding attendance rate this semester. Students who have attended 90% or more of the term will be awarded a Blue Award at the commencement of Term 3. We will be looking at a surprise Good to See You Day in Week 5 for students who have 100% attendance during the first 5 weeks of school.

Looking ahead to Term 3, we are excited for our student choir to perform at the GCOPS combined schools choir event, alongside performances from our talented dance group. Our students will also represent our school at the District Athletics carnival in Week 3, and Year 2-6 students will have the opportunity to participate in the School Swim Scheme program next Semester.

This term, we will also be saying farewell to Miss Jackson, Mr Harrop, Ms Morris, and Miss Grace. We thank them for their valuable contributions and dedication to our school community and wish them all the best in their new opportunities. We warmly welcome Mrs McKellar, Mrs Freebody, Miss Wong, Mrs O'Connell and Mr Campbell to our teaching team, along with Miss Freebody joining our non-teaching team to support student learning.

Finally, we say goodbye to students and families who are relocating to new cities and towns at the end of the term. We will miss you and thank you for being a part of our school community. We wish you every success in your future endeavours.
