SACRAMENT OF EUCHARIST

Congratulations to Ava, Sharlotte, Marianna, Lance, Tazlyn, Jazlyn, Hanny and Jessica from Year 3/4 who received the Sacrament of First Eucharist on Sunday at the Sacred Heart Parish Mass.
We wish them and their families every blessing after receiving this special sacrament of initiation; another inportant step in their Catholic faith journey.

WELLBEING

For the first 2 weeks of Term 3, each class will have a focus in Inquiry on Wellbeing, friendships, connections and aspects of social and emotional learning.
At Sacred Heart, we use Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships which is an evidenced based, sequential program developed by educational experts. It covers topics such as understanding and managing emotions, personal strenghts, problem solving and strategies to cope when things feel difficult.
Alongside this program we are also planning some exciting new initatives and a new whole school reward system. We have also revamped our Behaviour Support Process.
We look forward to sharing these improvements with the community next term.
COUNSELLOR
We have an additional counsellor commencing at Sacred Heart in Term 3. The counsellor can assist children one on one or in small groups, for short or longer term sessions.
Working with a counsellor could help students develop lifelong skills such as managing anxiety, regulating anger, building resilience or navigating social challenges.
Also areas such as supporting with strategies during family separations or grief and loss.
Counsellors frequently use play therapy, art, and storytelling to help students communicate and explore feelings.
Please get in touch if you'd like to know more or have a chat about counselling for your child in Term 3.
After an unusually difficult term for our Sacred Heart staff who have been inundated with illness, injury and/or family challenges -the holidays have come at the right time!
I want to commend the students who have really faced changes to their school routine with resilience and compassion.

I wish all our families and staff a wonderful holiday and I hope it provides a chance to rest, recover and reconnect after a busy term.
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone in Term 3.
Take Care,
Kate
