Principal's Report

It is hard to believe that the 2025 school year is half over. It seems like yesterday that the students were arriving for their first day back after the long Christmas break. Semester 1 has been extremely busy and we have much to be proud of.

I would like to thank the staff, students and parents for their outstanding efforts this semester.

I am always impressed with how courteous and friendly our students are towards all members of our community and have received some very positive comments regarding their behaviour on camps and excursions.

I must also complement the students on how they have approached their learning this semester with many attending the homework club and other additional educational opportunities.

Camps, Excursions, Incursions, Music Performances, Sports Carnivals and Competitions.

A significant amount of learning occurs outside of the classroom and once again our staff have been busy in organising a whole range of extracurricular activities. There have been far too many to mention individually, however all of them have been grounded in strong educational pedagogy and have provided students with real opportunities to learn, grow and engage with others. Thank you to everyone for their hard work and participation.

Exams

Students from 10 to 12 have just completed their mid-year exams. The exams provide an opportunity for the students to test their understanding of an entire semester of learning. They also can develop and fine tune their revision and recall techniques covered in the Brain Gains sessions.  The midyear exams are very much seen as a learning process and staff will provide feedback on student performance and on ways to improve.

College Uniform

The College council has been reviewing the uniform, and a draft uniform policy will be provided to students, staff and parents/carers for feedback early Term 3.

In conclusion, I would like to wish everyone a great semester holiday break with a reminder to our year 12 students that at least half of their break should be spent doing some form of study!!!
