Student Wellbeing

Hello Corpus Christi Families,
As I begin my role in wellbeing, I’m excited to share my passion and insights with you. As we leap into winter, this time of year often brings chilly days and more time spent indoors, making it all the more important to prioritise the wellbeing of both ourselves and our families.
Supporting wellbeing during the winter months doesn’t have to be complex—it’s often the small, consistent actions that make the biggest difference. Whether it’s maintaining routines, finding moments of joy, or simply checking in with one another, these everyday habits lay the foundation for emotional and social growth.
A strong sense of wellbeing fosters confidence and optimism, not only in ourselves, but also in our children, helping them reach their full learning potential. It nurtures their natural curiosity, strengthens their sense of agency, and promotes meaningful interactions with others.
When children feel happy, safe, and supported, they are more ready to learn and grow. A strong sense of wellbeing helps them do their best at school, make good friendships, and build the skills they need to succeed as they grow older. Below is a resource that may be helpful in supporting family wellbeing at home during these winter months.
Just a few ideas:
Connect: Keep in touch with family/friends, play games together, listen to music that reminds you of special times, share old photos/memories.
Be Active: Walk, dance, jog, create football challenges, play hide and seek, complete jobs around the house, circuit training.
Take Notice: Spend time outside every day, observe nature, try yoga, be creative, look up at the night sky.
Keep Learning: Watch a new film, read a book, learn a new fact, cook or bake, share a skill, try something different.
Give: Time to relax, help someone with a job, call someone to check they are doing ok, give someone a hug.
