What’s a fact that few people know about you?

I’ve lived in three different countries- Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Australia, which has given me lots of unique experiences and perspectives.

If your class could go on a field trip anywhere in the world, where would you take them?

I would take my class to Egypt to explore the pyramids. We could walk through ancient history, see the amazing tombs, and imagine what life was like thousands of years ago.

If you had to invent a new school subject, what would it be?

If I could create a new subject, it would be all about gardening and growing our own vegetables. We would learn how to plant seeds, look after them as they grow, and harvest the food we’ve grown ourselves. It would be fun to see our garden change over time, and we could even taste the fresh veggies we worked hard to grow!

Which superpower would make you the best teacher?

It’s difficult to choose just ONE superpower, but if I had to, I’d pick the power of being a Lesson Shapeshifter. That way, I could instantly transform every lesson into whatever helps my students understand best, whether that’s a story, a drawing, a game, or even a song!

Sushi with fresh seafood and heaps of wasabi

What is your favourite thing to do in life that is free?

Walking along the beach! I grew up on a small island, South of England, so I was surrounded by beautiful beaches. I would go for a beach walk at least twice a week, rain or shine!

What is your secret talent/skill?

It's not really a secret, my class have the evidence! I have recently taught myself to finger knit (I still can't 'normal' knit). I've made lots of different toys for children in my family and now my class have our very own finger knitted whale (suitably named Lu Lu). My current project is making the class a turtle - a lot harder than the whale!

What’s a food you wish you liked but don’t?

Olives. I can eat them on a pizza, cut up small and warm, but fresh from the pot, no thank you!

Number 1 Bucket list travel destination and why?

Peru. Specifically the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. I've always wanted to go after learning about the Inca Civilisation, the history is so fascinating and the scenery beautiful (from what I've heard). Plus, Paddington Bear!
