Welcome back to another action packed Term at Rangeview!
This term we have already had so many wonderful occasions and learning experiences. We celebrated NAIDOC Week in the first week of term, our Coding Club, Chess Club, and Lego Club all began, we had students represent the school at Division T-Ball, Division Netball and State Cross Country, we had students from Levels 4-6 participate in the German Poetry Competition, we ran AFL Clinics, the Foundation students Celebrated 100 Days of School, and the Level 1 students celebrated 101 Days of School, our Foundation - Level 4 students watched the 5/6 Production Porridge at the dress rehearsal, Level 2 students went to Como House, Level 5/6 performed over two nights in the Production Porridge (to critical acclaim), the whole school participated in sessions with the Cyber Safety Project - including a very informative staff session, and the Principal's were all spoilt with a celebratory morning tea and giant cake!
On Monday 28th and Tuesday 29th July our talented Level 5 and Level 6 students put on the 2025 Rangeview Production - Porridge!
Both performances were a huge success with the students acting, singing, and dancing their way into the audience's hearts. It was such a wonderful culmination of the months of work and dedication that has gone into bringing these two nights to life. I would like to extend my extreme congratulations to Deidree Geilings and Megan Campbell – and the whole 5/6 teaching Team - Nathalia Amato, Tegan Cant, Samantha Carter, Lee Giddings, Josh Godwin, Meg Hubbard, Lisa Janes, Luke McDonald, Chelsea Verrell, and Mitch Clark - for this extraordinary production. The pride and satisfaction clearly evident from all of the students involved was remarkable. We thank all of the parent committee who gave so generously of their time and their expertise in the creation or props, costumes, make-up and then helping on performance nights. Thank you to Mark Grummisch and Peter Lyons for their technical support - your work lifts our school production to such a professional level. Finally - thank you to all of the families and extended families that attended to watch our performances, it means so much to the students and it is a memory that they will take forward with them into the future.

Today our wonderful Foundation students (and teachers) are celebrating 100 Days of School! Throughout the first half of the year, our students have been learning about numbers and have counted the days of school - all the way up to 100. They have brought 100 items into school today and are busily organising them into groups of 10, and to top it off, they are dressed like people who are 100!
Thank you to our parent community for embracing this day - it is the most wonderful, and hilarious, thing to see....

The Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority has now published the statewide NAPLAN data results – and Victorian schools have achieved outstanding results. On 5 key metrics, Victorian schools have done exceptionally well. NAPLAN is a national assessment which is completed by all students in schooling in Australia - Levels 3, 5, 7 and 9.
Here at Rangeview our NAPLAN results for our Grade 3 and our Grade 5 students was extraordinary and is a testament to our excellent and dedicated teachers (at every level), and our supportive families who value and embrace education and engagement for our students.
The below tables show the percentage of students scoring in the Exceeding and Strong results range.
Rangeview 2025 NAPLAN

Network Schools: 60 Primary, Secondary and Specialist Schools in our local area.
Similar Schools: Schools matched by gender, Indigeneity, language background other than English status, parental occupation, parental education, and remoteness.
We are incredibly proud of our wonderful students in achieving these remarkable results.
Today in Victoria schools are celebrating Principal's Day. Ms McLeod, Mr Sommers and I were truly spoiled here at Rangeview with a Special Morning Tea and a literal tidal wave of cards and well wishes from students across the levels. It is a privilege to work in such a wonderful school and we are all incredibly thankful to our staff and students for making us feel so special today. Special thanks to Tania Balderston and Jo Davidson for organising and running this celebration for us.
