INTER SCHOOL SPORTS - WINTER EDITION

In week 11, Grades 4, 5, and 6 enjoyed a fun day out playing in teams in either Soccer, Netball, Football, or Tee Ball! Everybody has spent a part of their Monday for the last few weeks practising for this very day with their wonderful coaches. Apart from the big smiles seen across the day, our students have once again represented Bunyip Primary School with the highest of respect, resilience and responsibility. On top of this, each and every team showed the greatest sportsmanship throughout their games, gave it their best efforts and managed to have fun all at the same time! We want to give a huge thank you to all teachers and parents involved which in turn made all of this possible and enjoyable for all. Here are snapshots of each sports experience:

Football: Our Football team brought grit, confidence, and resilience to all of their games. Unfortunately, they lost their first two games, but held their heads high throughout both, losing by only four points in the second game. This confidence, resilience, and grit finally paid off in their third game where they won with 27 points to 21 points against St. John’s Primary School. Unfortunately, this was not enough for semi-finals, but it was enough to finally put a big smile on their faces. Well done team!

Netball: Our Netballers played in rain (thankfully no hail) and shine today, braving treacherous puddles and extremely cold conditions. Our netballers showed fabulous resilience against the weather, respect in their gameplay against others, and responsibility for their team! They made game-plans when change was needed and actioned feedback and tips for improvement beautifully. Well done, everyone!

Soccer: We had a few great games where we all worked together to try and stop as many goals as possible. Zaden and Zeke led the team, helping us all to find our positions on the field and explained the roles we had to play in our team. Our leading goal scorer was Zeke with 2 goals, and Winston with 1. Our team of nine displayed such great resilience, battling their way through some tough opponents. I am so proud of our players! A huge thanks to Miss Atherton for organising, and Anya and the parents who came and cheered us on. We appreciate it!

Tee Ball: Our Tee Ball Team played four fantastic games, securing two impressive wins. Every player made it to home base at least once, with some reaching it in every match! The day was full of big hits, brilliant catches, and excellent teamwork. We were very impressed to see the team strategising and communicating around the best batting order, where to aim the ball, and where to utilise fielding positions as we were short a few players. We were especially proud of the outstanding sportsmanship shown towards other teams and the resilience our players demonstrated in the cold and windy conditions. Well done, team!
