Wrapping Up Term 2 and Looking Ahead!
As Term 2 draws to a close, students across all year levels have been finalising assessments. Whether it be CATs in junior science or exams for years 10 to 12, students have been developing key skills in resilience, organisation and scientific thinking. We encourage all students to take a moment to reflect on their progress, celebrate what they’ve achieved and set fresh goals for growth in Semester 2.
In year 7, students extended their understanding of matter by exploring density, observing the sublimation of dry ice, and making ice cream by lowering the freezing point!
Year 8 students are finalising their unit Powering the Planet, where they have considered how different forms of energy are generated and evaluated the impacts on the environment and society.
Year 9 students and our year 10 Science Investigators have been exploring Newton’s Laws, with year 9 applying theory to a balloon drop and the Investigators recently designing and testing their own mousetrap cars.
Year 10 elective science students are finalising their current subjects this term, with new classes set to commence in Term 3.
VCE students have already started work on their Unit 2 and 4 studies and should aim to maintain good study habits over the holidays to ensure a strong start when they return.
We thank our science students for their efforts this semester and look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for more Science in Semester 2!
Have a safe and restful break.
