Year 12

'Push Limits, Embrace Growth and Make It Count'

A busy time for our Year 12s: GAT, Exams, Formal and Adventure!

It’s been a huge and memorable few weeks for our year 12 students as they navigated the academic rigours of the General Achievement Test (GAT) and a series of mid-year practice exams, all while celebrating one of the most anticipated events of the school year – the Year 12 Formal.

Students approached the GAT and their practice exams with focus and determination, using these opportunities to consolidate their learning and refine their exam strategies. Staff were impressed with the resilience shown by the cohort as they balanced the stress of exams and the unpredictable weather on the day of the GAT.

To cap off exam week, students swapped their pens and notebooks for suits and gowns at the 2025 Year 12 Formal, held at the stunning Alencia Reception in Dandenong South. The night was a huge success, with students arriving in style, soaking up the atmosphere of celebration and togetherness. The DJ kept the dance floor packed all night, and it was fantastic to see so many of our students enjoying themselves, laughing with friends and making memories that will last well beyond graduation.

The excitement doesn't stop there! This week, our Year 12s will head off on their final ever whole year level excursion to the Enchanted Adventure Park. From tree surfing, to tackling rope courses and mazes, students will have the chance to put their courage to the test, share a few more laughs, and enjoy some well-earned fun with their peers.

A reminder to all VCE students: while the holidays are a time to recharge, they are also an important part of your study journey. You will have holiday homework to complete and Term 3 will be a busy and important one. Make sure to plan your time well – find space to relax and recoup, but don’t forget to stay on top of your work.

A special thank you to the staff who consistently support us to coordinate both the academic and celebratory aspects of Year 12 – your support is greatly appreciated. Congratulations again to our Year 12s for showing resilience, spirit, and style!

And now, a word from your School Captains

After a long week of exams for the year 12s we finished off strong on Friday the 13th of June with our long awaited formal. It was amazing to see everyone up on the dance floor, showing off their moves. It was truly fantastic to see everyone coming together to enjoy their night and celebrate how far we have come so far. Year 12 has been very stressful for everyone recently, so the formal was a much-needed chance for us to let our hair down and let loose. With the annual student and teacher awards we recognised those who have worked hard in excelling themselves across a range of their subjects but also those who have brought joy and excitement to their peers. It is clear all year 12 students have been working their hardest and so should all be very proud of how far they’ve come. Post formal it is safe to say the whole year level has come together, had the chance to have fun and to celebrate how far we have come. Thank you to our teachers and coordinators for their amazing job organising, we all had an amazing time.
