Assistant Principals' Report

Hello everyone and welcome to our newsletter article,
Victorian Enrichment Education Series (VCES)
The VCES provides funded extension activities for high-ability students in Victorian government schools from Prep to Year 12. Within the series, education expert partners are delivering a suite of face-to-face and virtual incursions and excursions, such as workshops, tutorials, conferences, lectures and competitions, across all areas of the curriculum that are free of charge.
These experiences (in person and virtual) are also available for high ability students from Government primary and secondary schools during the school holiday period.
The 2025 Lego Robotics: Build Me a Story for Foundation to Year 2 students looks like it may interest some students and their families, see below:
About the event
Armed with a passion for LEGO® brick building, your primary schooler (5–8-year-olds) and family members will work together to create and code a LEGO® brick robot while learning about the Library’s collection items.
After the build comes the all-important testing – will your robot hold up?
There are two themed workshops to choose from, with two sessions per day. The first session runs from 10.30am to 12pm, and the second session runs from 1pm to 2.30pm. Due to the structure of the workshop, if you arrive more than 15 minutes past the start time you will not be able to join the session.
Workshop themes:
Monday 7 and 14 July - The Book Bug Race
Thursday 10 and 17 July - Build Me a Story

Semester 2 Student Reports
Student reports are now available via Compass. If not already, please also read the Compass newsfeed regarding Maths 2.0 and changes to reporting against mathematics.
Student reports are a celebration of each student’s growth and development. We would like to acknowledge the work and commitment of our teaching staff to prepare student reports for students, parents and carers.
Thank you also to our parents and carers for our partnerships. We strongly value the collaboration, as we know it positively contributes to each student at HPS experiencing growth and success.
Have a fun and restful break, and we look forward to seeing you in Term 3!
