Year 7 Overview

Year 7 is an exciting time for students. The physical aspects of moving schools, either from outside our DCC community or simply across the school grounds, are reflective of the more symbolic nature of the students ‘growing up’. Expectations begin to change. It’s rewarding to see the students learn and grow. They develop new skills. They move towards a deeper understanding of how uniquely God has created them and the possibilities of abundant life in Him. Students explore the overarching theme ‘I Belong’ in Year 7, a framework which guides students to understand better their place within the DCC community. To help them on this journey, they are mentored by our wonderful Peer Mentors; often a highlight for them across the year.

Year 7 Elective Subjects

Students in Year 7 choose one elective from each of the Arts and Technology areas: Design & Technology, Digital Technology, Performing Arts and Visual Arts. 

Students undertake one elective each term for 2 x 75 minute classes per week.
