The Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and collection for Vinnies

A big THANK YOU to the families who were able to donate to our non perishable items collection for the local Vinnies.

A big THANK YOU also to the students who assisted in carrying the items to the Vinnies cupboard.

Items can be donated anytime during the year. They can be brought to the Admin area and let Kathy or Louise know they are for Vinnies.

Please remember to pray for people in need and for those who are able to assist them in various ways.

Grandparents and Special Friends Day

We will celebrate Grandparents and Special Friends Day on Friday 25 July.

A prayer liturgy will be held in the Church after the grandparents and special friends have completed activities with the students in their classrooms.

If you would like to share a family photo of your child/children with their grandparents or special friends, which will be shown during the prayer liturgy, please email it to rhickey@smashburton.catholic.edu.au

The photos need to be emailed by Friday 4 July so the Year 6 Digital Technology leaders are able to prepare the Google Slides presentation.

Pope Leo XIV's Prayer Intentions

July is dedicated to 'discernment' or 'the ability to judge well in decision making'.

The late Pope Francis placed a strong emphasis on discernment in minor and major decisions.

Pope Leo XIV has asked the world to pray for discernment during the month of July.

We can all use discernment every day and we pray our world leaders practise using discernment to create a peaceful world for everyone.

Please try to find some quiet time in your busy day to pray Pope Leo's Prayer Intention for the month of July. Thank you.

For formation in discernment

Let us pray that we might again learn how to discern, to know how to choose paths of life, and reject everything that leads us away from Christ and the Gospel.

Amen
