Breakfast Club

Breakfast Club runs every morning and is staffed by one of our amazing Education Support members. 

We’re looking for enthusiastic and caring volunteers to help out with our school’s Breakfast Club, just one morning per week for 20 minutes. Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, or community member, your support can make a big difference in giving our students a positive, nourishing start to their day. With more support we can start to look at broadening the range of breakfast options for students so that they can start the day with a healthy full belly!

Attendance - Golden Ticket

Congratulations to Robert, Hannah and Matilda for being the lucky winners of this weeks Golden Tickets! Great work on attending everyday, and on time. 

Attendance - Whole School

As a school we continue to work really hard to improve student attendance, and so here are the current numbers for 2025. 

Firstly, 21 students are at 100%! Amazing job. We are going to provide a special morning tea for this group of students in the last week of Term 2. Keep up the great work!

190 students (64%) have had less than 10 days of absence for the year in comparison to 169 students (54%) last year. This is huge and we want to thank families for working with us to make real progress in this area. As we head into the colder months it can be really hard to maintain attendance, but even one day off each week will significantly impact our overall attendance rate, and more importantly student learning and wellbeing. 

We do have 74 students (25%) that are above 10 days absence and 34 students (11%) between 20-30 days absence. Please keep reinforcing the importance of coming to school every day, on time, ready to learn. We are so proud of the progress we are making but we know how easily the numbers can shift if we don’t keep working at it. 

Families of students with more than 20 days absence will be contacted by our Leadership Team to support and put attendance plans in place.

Bark Land Donations

Bark Land is looking a bit bare! The purpose of this area is to allow students to imagine and create their own fun activities using a range of sustainable and recycled materials.

We are always looking to update items for this space so we are reaching out to you to ask for any donations that would be suitable for primary school students to build/create/play with. We are also putting the call out to local businesses so hopefully we can add some really cool items to this space. 

Examples of materials could be;

-          Plastic milk crates

-          Plastic guttering

-          Cable drums

-          Giant rope

-          Shade cloth

-          Plastic barrels

-          Large tyres

-          Any other items that may be safe and suitable

Supported Learning 

Supported Learning is a small-group program designed to support students in developing communication skills, conflict resolution and regulation strategies, and general life skills. The group will be facilitated by our Wellbeing Leader and Physical Education Teacher to ensure a structured and supportive environment for skill-building.

The purpose and benefits of this group include:

• Enhanced social connection by fostering friendships and cooperative interactions.
• Develop effective communication skills, including turn-taking, active listening, and expressing thoughts appropriately.
• Teach conflict resolution strategies, helping students navigate disagreements respectfully.
• Strengthen self-awareness and self-regulation to support emotional wellbeing.
• Build an understanding of social norms and expected behaviours in different settings.

Structure of the Program

• The sessions will take place weekly during school hours.
• Each session will include a mix of structured activities, discussions, and role-playing exercises to practice social interactions in a safe environment.

Students have been working really well together completing important maintenance and small building works around the school. All have really enjoyed it and have taken great pride in their work. 

Upcoming Events on Compass

Over the past few weeks' the majority of the term 3 excursions / incursions have been released on Compass Events: 

• School wide Science week incursion on Tuesday12th August 
• Select students to District Athletics on Wednesday 13th August
• Grade 5/6 Parliament Process incursion on Monday 18th August 
• Grade 1/2 Minibeasts Incursion on Monday 18th August
• Prep Queenscliff Marine Discovery excursion on Wednesday 27th August 
• Book Week 'Treasure Hunt' Theatre incursion on Tuesday the 2nd of September '
• Grade 3/4 Cave Hill Creek Camp on Monday 3rd November till Tuesday 4th November (term 4)

There will also be the Prep-4 Learn to Swim Week the final week of term 3. 

To use your School Saving Bonus towards these activities you will need to first access the School Saving Bonus site and then allocate the funds to activities.

To access the School Saving Bonus site:

2. Enter you voucher code and email address.
3. Then allocate the amount you want to be used for activities.

Year 3/4 Camp to Cave Hill Creek – Important Information

We are excited to share details about the upcoming Year 3/4 overnight camp to Cave Hill Creek! This is a wonderful opportunity for students to build independence, develop friendships, and participate in fun, outdoor learning experiences.

Camp Dates: The camp will take place during Term 4 – Monday 3rd to Tuesday 4th November, and it will be a one-night, two-day camp.

Camp Cost: The cost of the camp is $200 per student.

Payment Options: Families are welcome to pay the full amount or choose a payment plan. If you wish to pay via a payment plan, this can be organised through Compass. Payment instalments are on the following dates:

• 10th July 2025
• 10th August 2025
• 10th September 2025
• 10th October 2025

CSEF (Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund)

If your family is eligible for CSEF, the camp cost has already been adjusted to reflect the credit available on your account.

School Saving Bonus (SSB):Families can also use their School Saving Bonus (SSB) towards the camp cost. To do so, please log in to the SSB Portal and allocate funds towards excursions. Once allocated, the school office will update your camp balance accordingly.

We encourage all families to take advantage of these options to ensure every student has the opportunity to attend this memorable experience.
