A Message from the Principal
Mrs Carolyn Parsell
Dear Parents and Carers,
Yesterday a fence banner celebrating our 100 Years of Education at St Martha's was installed! It is wonderful to look back with gratitude for all those who founded the school and the generations of staff and students who have worked together to grow in love, faith and learning over the last 100 years. It is an opportunity to take pride in all that has been achieved and look forward together to promoting a thriving Catholic community here in Strathfield. We look forward to sharing many "100" themed events with you over the course of the year.
The season of Lent calls us to prepare for the Easter season. Prayer, fasting and almsgiving are promoted during Lent as a way to prepare our hearts for the coming season of Easter.
Prayer: Set aside time to pray, read Sacred Scripture, and add a devotion or practice to your daily prayer routine.
Fasting: Give up something you enjoy, like a snack, social media, or a favorite game, practice self-control.
Almsgiving: Give to those in need, or do good deeds, like helping someone with chores.
These simple changes to your routine can help deepen your relationship with God and prepare you for Easter.
Choir will commence next week on Monday at Lunch 2 for studentsfrom Kinder to Year 6.
We look forward to developing the choral skills in preparation for the SCS Eisteddfod later this year. Please encourage your children to come to the Hall at Lunch 2 on Monday if they want to join the choir.
It was great fun being slimed last Friday and the students, staff and parents seemed very excited to join in the fun!
Congratulations on reaching the next fundraising milestone, so Mr Walsh will be slimed tomorrow. We are only a short way off $25,000 where Mr Jack will be slimed.
The important thing is the colour run is fast approaching and 24th March will be a fun day for everyone!
Peace and best wishes,
Carolyn Parsell
