YEAR 8
Building Strong Connections
Head of Year 8
Next week in SEL, Year 8 students will explore ways to foster kindness and positive relationships in their digital interactions. As part of the Kindness and Connections module, they will learn about cyberbullying—what it is, how to respond to it, and the impact of unkind words online. These sessions will encourage students to reflect on their digital behaviour and develop strategies to navigate difficult situations with empathy and respect. Promoting a safe and supportive online environment is essential to building strong connections within our school community.
As we move through the term, it is essential to remember that support is always available for students who may be overwhelmed, facing challenges with friendships, or just needing someone to talk to. Our school counsellors provide a confidential and supportive space to discuss concerns—whether it’s about the school, relationships, or personal well-being. Students can access this service by contacting the counsellors, speaking with their Pastoral Mentor, or visiting student reception to arrange an appointment. Seeking support when needed is a sign of strength, and we encourage all students to look out for themselves and each other.
This is a reminder to students to bring their EFTPOS cards to purchase food from the Tuck Shop. Phones are not permitted and should be securely stored in their lockers during school hours.
