Catholic Education Week : Arise and Shine

It is Catholic Education Week. This year's theme has been Arise and Shine. This term our students have reflected on the concept of Light. How does light make us feel as opposed to darkness? How is light used in the scriptures? How did Jesus shine his light on us and how can we shine our light on others. It has led to some beautiful reflections from the students about how we can care for others and live out Jesus' message.

Project Compassion:

During Lent we are encouraged to think about others. We are taking part in Project Compassion run by Caritas. The children are talking about giving hope to others. They are considering how they can help the dignity of all people. We are encouarging children rather than just asking for money, to complete a job at home in order to earn some money to bring for Project Compassion.

This fortnight our students are looking at the Catholic Social Teaching of Dignity of the Human Person. This ties in well with the Caritas appeal.

Thank you for your support.
