As part of the Improvement Cycle, Victorian Government schools undergo a formal Review every four years. This independent process assesses the school's performance against the goals and targets outlined in our strategic plan. It also evaluates our strengths, areas for growth, and the impact of our improvement efforts.
Our school reviewer, Kim Ryan, launched the Review process last Monday with Validation Day. This was an important opportunity to explore our Pre-Review Self-Evaluation document, analyse four years' worth of data, and observe classrooms in action.
Yesterday, Kim returned for our fieldwork day, which included interviews with staff, students, and parents about all aspects of ‘Echuca East.’ It was fantastic to see so many parents and grandparents participate in the parent focus session and share their insights. We truly appreciate your thoughts, ideas, and—most importantly—your time in contributing to the future direction of our great school.
On March 24th, the Review Panel will reconvene for the final stage of the process. This will bring the Review to a close, equipping us with valuable insights to shape our new four-year Strategic Plan.
A reminder to parents and carers that NAPLAN testing for our Grade 3 and 5 students begins next week. This is an important nationwide assessment that provides valuable insight into student learning in the areas of literacy and numeracy.
The testing schedule will take place over several days, and we encourage students to come to school well-rested and ready to do their best. While we remind students that NAPLAN is just one part of their learning journey, we encourage them to approach it with a positive mindset and confidence.
Please ensure your child arrives on time each day, and if they are feeling unwell or unable to attend, notify the school as soon as possible. If you have any questions about NAPLAN, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher or the school office.
Thank you for your support in helping our students feel prepared and supported during this time.
We are excited to support the 444 Run, an incredible initiative raising awareness for youth mental health. To show our support, all donations from today’s Casual Dress Day will go directly to Headspace Echuca, Swan Hill, and Mildura, helping provide vital mental health services for young people in our communities.
The 444 Run is more than just a challenge—it’s a movement to encourage open conversations about mental health and ensure that young people have the support they need. By participating in our Casual Dress Day and making a donation, our school community can contribute to this important cause.
