Food, Fibre & Timber Industries

EXCLUSIVE SBT METRO PROGRAM 2025

Apprenticeship Support Australia is proud to partner with the Food, Fibre & Timber Industries Training Council (WA) to co-create a student focused school-based training program focused on industries that are needing apprentices/trainees within the Perth Metro area.

Apprenticeships:

  • Glass and Glazing Apprenticeship Program (54 months SBT \ 36 months FT)

  • Cabinet Making Apprenticeship Program (63 months SBT \ 42 months FT)

Traineeships:

  • Irrigation Traineeship Program (36 months SBT \ 24 months FT)

  • Landscaping Traineeship Program (18 months SBT \ 12 months FT)

We would like to thank our program supporters:

The program is open to Year 10, Year 11 and Year 12 students* however, we are open to accepting those who may be interested in full-time/part-time on a case-by-case basis.

All applications close at the end of February with the Apprenticeships/Traineeships starting in March 2025. (Special circumstances are allowed, please include this in your application such as requested start date etc).

*Please note the student must complete before the student finishes school if they want the SBAT to be recognised on their WACE. An SBAT training contract may be extended beyond the nominal term if a student has not achieved the required competencies by the end date, as long as the extended period still falls within the compulsory education period.

ANU DIRECT APPLICATION DETAILS

Opens Monday, 3 March | Closes Monday 15 May

We will be assessing students eligibility by using their Year 11 results. We create what is called an ASA Selection Rank.  An offer will be made to students in September based on this ranking.  If students received their Year 12 certificate and an ATAR, we will honour that offer (of course, with prerequisites if required). The ANU Selection Rank is not a predicted ATAR.

Students applying for a program with prerequisite subjects need to provide documentation showing their Year 12 subject enrolments.

ANU has a supplementary form available which students can use when submitting their results (if their existing documents are already in the correct format, they don’t have to use these forms)

Year 11 and 12 Results Form:  Year 11_Supplementary_Assessment_Form.pdf (you can also use this form for the prerequisite element)
