Condor House Captains introduce themselves

Charlie

Hi, I’m Charlie, your McCubbin vice-captain for 2025. My favourite subjects are PE, music and maths. In my spare time, I like playing video games, playing the piano and reading. My favourite memory of IPS are the friendships I’ve made during my time at this school. I hope this year we will thrive to be the best house for 2025! GO MCCUBBIN!

Ross

Good morning students, staff and parents of IPS, I'm Ross, your McCubbin House Captain for 2025. I am just simply elated to be your house captain this year, in 2025. Some of my most enjoyable subjects are PE, Music, Science and Maths. When I have some free time, I like playing the cello, basketball and reading. Many important memories of mine at IPS are sure to be all the relationships that I have formed over time and, of course, winning the house cup. I hope this year we will aim to improve and refine the use of the school values and, most of all, surpass all competition and come out on top! GO MCCUBBIN!

Jasmine

Good Morning students, staff and parents of IPS, my name is Jasmine and I am your McCubbin House Captain for 2025. I’m truly ecstatic to be able to represent you all this year.

Some of my hobbies include writing, basketball and meeting new people. One thing I love about IPS is Battle of the Bands. I love all the events and activities that Ivanhoe Primary has to offer like, Battle of the Bands and Orchestra.

My biggest achievement at IPS was making one of my past teachers cry…don’t worry! They were happy tears!

With my fellow McCubbin Captains by my side, we will lead McCubbin to victory!

GO MCCUBBIN!

Madeline

My name is Madeleine, and I am thrilled to be your McCubbin Vice Captain for 2025. At Ivanhoe Primary School I love the sense of team spirit that the House program instills in all of us. To those who don't know me, my favourite subjects are Mathematics, Art and creative writing. Outside of school, my hobbies are reading, playing the Violin, playing tennis, running and swimming although I enjoy many other sports.

I am really looking forward to working with all of you this year and leading McCubbin to victory!

Mighty McCubbin, we’re number one! Red’s the colour, and we’ve just begun!

House Captain Award

Good morning students, teachers, and parents of IPS. My name is Rondelle, your Sutherland house vice-captain for 2025 and my name is Jasmine you McCubbin House Captain of 2025.

Today, we are excited to present this week's House Captain Award!

This award is a special way for house captains to acknowledge students who consistently show positive behaviour and uphold the school values. It shines a light on those who lead by example and inspire others through their actions...

And now, it’s time to reveal our well-deserving recipient for Term 1, Week 5…

(Drum roll please!)

Congratulations to Adaline from 3M!

Adaline has shown Independence and Respect by focusing hard during a writing task and not allowing any distractions to get in her way. Her dedication to her work is a fantastic example for others to follow.

Remember, every student has the chance to earn this award! By showing our school values, you could be the next one recognized. Keep up the great work!

Well, done, Adaline!

Peer Leadership

Hello IPS community!

My name is Kieran McKissack, and I am the teacher in charge of our current peer leaders of 2025.

To say we have a lot of helpers would be an understatement, as we have over 70 students in both Grade 5 and 6 who have volunteered one lunch time every week until the end of term 1! All of this to assist the challenging transition of our preps to their new IPS environment through future leaders who demonstrate and embody our school values.

To say these numbers are remarkable would be an understatement but goes to show how these students feel about supporting others and ensuring our new school additions have support around them to be both guides and new friends.

In last weeks’ newsletter, we shared with you some of our Peer Leaders in action.

This week I thought I would try and capture all present Peer Leaders (18.2.25) for a whole group photo.

A word for our Peer Leaders. This program does not run without you, so thank you all for your support and effort. It does not go unnoticed.

I look forward to continuing to work with all Peer Leaders as we progress through the first parts of 2025, and beyond!

Keep up the amazing work everyone!
