Program Overview

Our Innovation programs are designed to enrich and extend the learning opportunities on offer to students at Glen Waverley Primary School. These programs encourage students to think from the perspective of an Amazing Innovator considering what they do with their knowledge to creatively approach complex challenges.  

Through the Innovator’s Mindset, students explore the key traits of successful innovators and how they can apply these qualities to their own learning. We encourage students to develop and demonstrate the following characteristics: 

• Visionary – Thinking ahead and imagining new possibilities 
• Collaborative – Working effectively with others 
• Courageous – Taking risks and embracing new challenges 
• Determined – Persevering through difficulties 
• Reflective – Learning from experiences to improve and grow 

Using this framework, students identify their personal strengths and areas for growth, setting meaningful goals to guide their learning journey. 

Furthermore, students connect with their experience of engaging with challenge by identifying characteristics that they draw on as they move through the Learning Pit.
