YEAR 4

FROM THE CLASSROOM

Dear Year 4 families,

We are now past the halfway mark for the term! Before the term ends, we will continue to enjoy many learning opportunities and look forward to several upcoming events.

In Inquiry, we have begun exploring how the land, including native plants and animals, was changed by the arrival of the First Fleet in Australia.

In Reading, we have started Book Week activities early by exploring text-to-self connections through 'Being Indy' and examining how authors and illustrators create emotion and interest through 'Once I Was a Giant'.

In Talk for Writing, we have begun learning our new information report, 'The Land of Never Believe'.

In Mathematics, students have begun applying decimals to financial situations involving money, rounding values to the nearest five cents and adding items to find a total.
