- Lego boxed with instructions.
- Lego un-boxed
- Lego playmats
- Lego storage containers
All donations can be dropped off at the front office. We appreciate your support and look forward to sharing our Lego creations with you all in our newsletter.
Child Safety and Wellbeing at Clyde PS
From Mrs Hayley Taylor our Wellbeing and Inclusion Leader
In 2022, the Victorian Government announced new Child Safe Standards to further strengthen child safety across organisations, including schools. The new standards recognise the critical importance of families and the broader school community in maintaining and promoting child safety and wellbeing.
Clyde PS reviewed and updated our child safety policies and procedures to ensure they met the requirements of the new standards. These are available to view on our school website.
Clyde PS is committed to providing a child safe and child friendly environment, where students are safe and feel safe. We are committed to continuous improvement in our approach to child safety and wellbeing and welcome feedback from families and members of our school community on ways we can further strengthen our child safety policies, procedures and practices.
If you have any suggestions, comments or questions, please contact Hayley Taylor, our Wellbeing and Inclusion Leader.
Anaphylaxis
We have a number of students across the school who are anaphylactic or allergic to a variety of foods. Anaphylaxis is a severe allergic reaction that occurs after exposure to an allergen. The most common allergens for school-aged children are nuts, eggs, cow’s milk, fish, shellfish, wheat, soy, sesame, latex, certain insect stings and medication.
Letters were sent home via Compass to year levels that have a child with anaphylaxis regarding information about specific foods the student is anaphylactic to. Please read these so you understand the seriousness of anaphylaxis and foods that they students are anaphylactic. All classes have spoken about the importance of eating only the food that their own parents/carers provide and about the importance of washing hands when eating. Asthma Plans
Asthma is a long-term lung condition. People with asthma have sensitive airways in their lungs which react to triggers, causing a ‘flare-up.’ In a flare-up, the muscles around the airway squeeze tight, the airways swell and become narrow and there is more mucus. This makes it hard to breathe. An asthma flare-up can come on slowly (over hours, days or even weeks) or very quickly (over minutes). A sudden or severe asthma flare-up is sometimes called an asthma attack.
If your child is diagnosed with asthma, please ensure that Clyde Primary School has an updated Asthma Plan. Asthma Plans need to be updated every year. Please visit your doctor in order to update your plan if needed. To read our schools Asthma Policy please click on the following link: Asthma Policy
Medications at School
If your child requires medication to be taken at school at any time during the year, please come into the office to fill in a 2024 ‘Medical Authorisation’ form. This allows staff to give your child medication when needed.
