ART SHOW

On Thursday, December 7th, at 5:30, amid the festive concert, our school's art community came together for a spectacular display of creativity and talent. Our annual art show was a resounding success, and I'm thrilled to share some highlights with you.

This year's theme, inspired by the renowned author Austin Kleon and his book 'Steal Like an Artist,' ignited a spark of innovation among our students. They took Kleon's words to heart, borrowing elements and adding their unique twists to create a stunning array of artworks. The results were nothing short of extraordinary, showcasing the boundless creativity that our students possess.

What sets our art studio apart is the unique Teaching for Artistic Behaviour (TAB) choice-based approach we embrace. This method empowers students to express their individual voices and explore their artistic passions. Student voice is a cornerstone of our school, and it was evident in every piece on display at the art show.

The artworks were not just visually striking but also thought-provoking, reflecting the diversity of perspectives within our school and community. Each creation was a testament to the commitment of our students to push the boundaries of their artistic abilities.

To make it convenient for parents who may have missed the show, we will soon be sharing a link on Compass where you can view the exhibition virtually. We encourage you to take a moment to appreciate the incredible talent and effort that went into each piece.

A heartfelt thank you is in order for our student artists who have dedicated their time and passion to create such exceptional works throughout the year. Your contributions have made our art community richer and more vibrant.

As we bid farewell to our grade 6 artists, we want to express our gratitude for their remarkable contributions to the art studio. Your creativity and enthusiasm have left an indelible mark, and we wish you continued success on your artistic journey.

A special shout-out goes to our art leaders, Latasha and Tom, who have been unwavering in their support of the studio and their fellow artists. Your dedication has played a pivotal role in the success of the art show and the growth of our artistic community.

I would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Jaqui and Dean (Izzy & Harrison's parents) who tirelessly worked throughout the week to support us in putting together the art show. Your dedication and hard work did not go unnoticed and were vital to the success of the event.

Looking ahead, I am excited about the prospect of continuing to hone the skills of our budding artists in the coming year. Together, let's nurture and celebrate the creativity that makes our school's art community truly exceptional.

Thank you all for your support and participation in making this year's art show a resounding success!

Warm regards,

Aasta
