VOCABULARY

Text to self connection: Something in the text that reminds you of something you’ve done or seen before.

Text to text connection: Something in the text that reminds you of something you’ve read in another text.

Text to world connection: Something in the text that reminds you of something you know happens in the real world.

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Ask your child to read from their blue satchel. Have them write down a connection they can make with the character, this could be something they have also experienced or something they have seen another character from a text experience.
