Prayer

Dear Lord Jesus

As we embark on another week;

We give thanks for our friends and family.

Pour out your blessings on those who are sick and suffering,

Give Fortitude to those who are facing difficulty and

strengthen those who are instruments of Justice and Charity.

Help us in our relationships and learning during this week,

that we may be channels of your peace.

We also ask the intercession of Mary our mother, that she may bring us closer to you.

We ask these prayers through Christ our Lord.

Amen

 

The Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga has chosen the theme “Sowing the good Seeds” which follows on from the 2023 theme of “Preparing the Good Soil”. In my newly appointed role as Leader of Faith Formation and Mission I will endeavour to continue this mission, taking over from my predecessor Kieran Udy, who in collaboration with Kildare staff worked tirelessly to prepare the soil.

 

Fr Sean Byrnes continues to be our chaplain and we have invited Bishop Mark Edwards OMI to celebrate our opening Mass on the 29th of February, in order to support us in this mission.

 

Today the Church celebrates Ash Wednesday as a starting point of Lent, some 40 days of preparation leading up to Jesus’ sacrificial act of dying on the cross on Good Friday and ultimate victory over sin and death - Easter Sunday. 

Here are some parish notices:

  • ST MICHAEL’S CATHEDRAL ASH WEDNESDAY MASSES 7:00 am, 8:00 am (Calvary), 9:15 am (St Joseph’s school Mass) all welcome, 12:45 pm and 5:30 pm.
  • Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) recommences on Wednesday, 14 February—2nd and 4th Wednesdays thereafter.
  • STATIONS OF THE CROSS Fridays during Lent, 7 pm after the holy hour 
  • WORLD DAY OF PRAYER Friday 1 March, we pray for PALESTINE & ISRAEL & ALL SUFFERING FROM THE EFFECTS OF WAR.
  • BEING CHRISTIAN IN AN ONLINE WORLD Commencement Date: 20 February 2024 Time and Day: Tuesdays 7:00 pm Venue: Parish Centre
