"Nourishing our Wholebeing"
Community Project 5
Our first Community Project for 2024 is called, “Nourishing My Wholebeing” and we are focusing on exploring the concept of wholebeing. This project draws a Health and Personal and Social lens from the Victorian Curriculum, as well as allows for exploration through children's ideas.
As with any Community Project, children have begun to be immersed in a First Encounter to activate prior knowledge and interest in the concept. Yesterday the Prep children experienced a Reptile incursion. The One Hub went to Williamstown Beach. The Two Hub are having a Yoga incursion on Friday. The Three to Six Hubs have been asked to respond to a Discovery provocation related to 'nourishing' and 'wholebeing'.
Learning leaders and educators then use these conversations, insights, artefacts and perspectives from the children to design an engaging project pathway unique to each group of children.
We would love to invite any members from our community who have any ideas about 'nourishment of our wholebeing' or would like to contribute to this project in any way to please contact Lauren through ldavis@sjfootscray.catholic.edu.au
