Fantastic 3/4
Term 1 Week 2 2023
What have we been up to?
The 3/4 teachers would like to welcome back all the students and parents to a new school year. We have all had a lovely start to the first two weeks. It’s great to see so many happy faces at school!
Students have been working on a series of activities to jump start our school year, while focusing on our school and classroom culture. We have centred our learning around the 7 Habits and how we can become leaders at school and at home. Each class has created their classroom mission statement as well as a personal mission statement. Students have applied for classroom leadership roles and are working towards creating their personal and academic WIGs (Wildly Important Goals) for the term. These activities have had the students participating in classroom discussions, working and collaborating as a team (in pairs and small groups), as well as working well independently. We can’t wait to see what else they will achieve as the year progresses.
In Literacy, the students have been working on what a great sentence looks like. The students have been coming up with some wonderful and creative sentences using nouns, verbs and adjectives.
In Maths, students have started looking at the place-value concept, where they will be learning to partition, rearrange and regroup numbers to at least tens of thousands.
