Lisa Macheras (Secondary)

1. Year 12 VM Program Leader

2. Played netball for 20+ years but these days I’m just a sport spectator. I watch lots of sports and support Essendon, Melbourne Storm, Toronto Maple Leaves and the Detroit Pistons. My own children play a lot of basketball so most of my spare time is following them around.  

3. Travelling is my favourite thing and my dream is to go to every country in the world. My favourite places are anywhere that has a different culture to what I’m used to. 

4. Any 80s female pop songs that I can sing as loud as possible with my horrible singing voice. 

5. Seeing students who have spent a lot of their school life very disengaged to then having a keen interest in learning

2.  I have never enjoyed sport and prefer cultural activities, arts, and crafts.  I might watch cricket or rugby if there is a big international game on, with South Africa playing.

3. I have been privileged to travel to many places in the world and can safely say that there is no one place that’s my favourite.  Every place has its own charm. 

4. Crazy from Patsy Kline (please promise me that I’d never have to actually sing this!) 

5. The most rewarding thing about teaching is seeing the progress children make. Seeing them having an ‘aha moment’ when they’ve understood a new concept is priceless.
