Child safety and wellbeing at Seymour College: information for families and the school community

Last year, the Victorian Government announced new Child Safe Standards to further strengthen child safety across organisations, including schools. The new standards recognise the critical importance of families and the broader school community in maintaining and promoting child safety and wellbeing.

Seymour College has reviewed and updated our child safety policies and procedures to ensure they meet the requirements of the new standards. These are available to view on the Seymour College website at www.seymourcollege.vic.edu.au .

We are committed to continuous improvement in our approach to child safety and wellbeing and welcome feedback from families and members of our school community on ways we can further strengthen our child safety policies, procedures and practices.

If you have any suggestions, comments or questions about Child Safety at Seymour College, please contact the school office.

STUDENTS WHO ARE UNWELL

Students who become unwell at school are required to attend the Health Centre located in the admin building, and see the School Nurse, Brooke, who will assess the student and contact a parent if the student needs to go home. Students are NOT to call home prior to attending the Health Centre.

Secondary students are encouraged to bring their student ID cards with them when they come to school late so they can sign themselves in at the office.
