Science Week
Science Week
Last week we celebrated National Science Week with an array of activities across the school grounds.
Students were able to participate in a number of activities each lunchtime including a science show in Mr Liu’s Laboratory, the Great Scientific Popcorn Relay, Science Trivia quiz, a science display as well as various class activities.
What a fun way to engage students in science!

Year 11 Foot Quake
Six of our Science and HSIE classes joined together to take part in the Australian Seismometers in Schools "Science Quake of the Year" competition. The students had to jump together, creating a signal on landing that is strong enough to register on the seismometer that is buried under the Science Labs. We will send a photo of the jump along with details of the number of students participating and the exact timing of our landing. This will be used to interpret the signal we generated and judge our ability to create a strong, clear signal.
If anyone would like to access the seismic data that is recorded at Moama Anglican Grammar it is available through the “Station Monitor” app. Scanning in on the map to our location, allows our site to be selected and by clicking on the small wave at the bottom right of the screen it is possible to see both recent activity and past large events. Even though we may not feel the waves of an earthquake in Alaska, they are still recorded as they pass beneath our school.
