MACSSIS 2023

Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools – School Improvement Surveys (MACSSIS): Monday 28th August – Friday 15th September 2023

Once again we are inviting all families, Year 4 - 6 students & staff to complete this years MACSSIS survey. Our community’s opinions are critical to understanding how our school is performing – MACSSIS is a key data source for guiding the ongoing work to improve our school.

All stakeholders in the school are asked to do the survey.   At OLSC all staff, families & students from Year 4 -6 will be completing the survey.

The purpose is to give all stakeholders a voice & determine the strengths of the school & the challenges we face.  The data received is analysed & informs both the School Improvement Plan & the Annual Action Plan.

We strongly encourage all families to complete the survey & have a voice in how our school can continue to grow & improve.

All families should have received a letter with further information, the survey link, and your families unique password . These were sent home on Monday.

If you did not receive your letter or have any questions please contact Sandy.

Multicultural Day Friday October 13th, 2023

Thankyou to the couple of families who have volunteered to read a prayer at assembly.

We are looking for more volunteers to read a prayer at the assembly.  The idea is that the parent will read a prayer in their mother tongue & their child repeat the prayer in English. If you are able to do this please email Sandy. shenderson@olscwyn.catholic.edu.au

We are looking forward to celebrating the uniqueness of our school community. All families are invited to a whole school assembly @ 9am with a Parade of Nations.  After the assembly parents are welcome to go with their children to the Learning Centres where each child will create their own OLSC passport.

To make this day bigger & better we are calling for your help.

  • Have you sent in a photo of your family yet? Please do so ASAP.  To celebrate all of our families we are creating a family photo wall. We are asking all students to bring in a family photo for our photo wall.
  • At our assembly & Parade of Nations on October 13th students are asked to come to school in their National Dress or the colours of the flag from their country of origin.
  • Do you have a favourite recipe from your culture that your family just love to eat?  If so please contribute to the OLSC Recipe Book by  sending us a copy of your favourite recipe. Please email your recipe to Sandy: shenderson@olscwyn.catholic.edu.au
