Acting Principal

Dear Parents/Carers

Thank you to the Parent's Association for hosting a wonderful Father's Day Breakfast celebration for the Dad's on Tuesday morning this week. The children and Dads all looked to be enjoying time together, their pancakes and coffee. I take this opportunity to wish all families a wonderful family celebration this Sunday.

MACSIS Family Survey

This week some families received a survey from MACS in an envelope in your child's bag. These surveys give us information on how to continue to improve our school. If you received a survey please complete it before Friday 15 September.

Confirmation Faith Night

TONIGHT (31st August) is the Grade 6 Confirmation Faith Night for the children making their Confirmation this year. We invite the parents and children to attend this night to explore the sacrament of Confirmation and the gifts of the Spirit. Also a quick reminder that you and your child are expected to attend a Committment Mass this weekend, either Saturday 2nd Sept at 6 pm or Sunday 3rd Sept at 9 am or 11 am.

Whole School Footy Day

We will celebrate our whole school footy day on Thursday 14 September (the last Thursday of the term). On this day the children can dress up in their team colours / jumpers.

Australia's Biggest Child Safety Lesson Day

Next Tuesday St Bede's is participating in Australia's Biggest Child Safety Lesson Day. On this day the children will attend an online webinar with their class. This day promotes the importance of children being safe. We invite the children to dress in red on Tuesday to promote awareness of this important cause.

Staff Car Parks

Just a reminder that the staff car parks are not available to parents to use during drop off and pick up times. Lately a few people have been reversing out of the top staff car park during pick up, this is very dangerous for the children and parents walking up Marwal Street. We thank you for keeping our children safe by not using the 3 staff car parks.

End of Term

Just a reminder that the children finish at 1pm on the last day of term (15 September).

Reminders:

Child Safety and Working With Children Check

It is a legal requirement for any helper either in the classroom or for excursions to have a Working With Children Check (WWCC). We must have a copy of this in our office. If you have not submitted a copy of your WWCC or have recently received a new one please bring it to the office for us to photocopy and file. This must be the approved WWCC not just the initial receipt of application. Thank you.

Art Show

The children and staff are busily preparing for the Art Show on the 7th September 6 - 8 pm. Each child is preparing pieces both in their Art Lessons and within their class inquiry into creativity. This should be a wonderful showcase of the children's learning this term. Please keep the date free and perhaps some grandparents may wish to visit as well.

Have a wonderful weekend celebrating your Fathers and families,
