Tent Pegging

Recently Gabriella Mannell (Year 10) was selected to represent at the ATA (Australian Tentpegging Association)  National Championships which were held in Gilgandra NSW. Tentpegging is a cavalry sport on horses that involves weapons such as swords and lances being used to hit targets. Ten pegging is one of only ten equestrian disciplines officially recognised by the International Equestrian Federation.

Gabreilla was a member of the Open Team which was made up of 4 riders. Gabriella was very successful and ended up winning the gold trophy at the National Championships. Congratulations to Gabriella and her team who are now invited to attend the International Championships which will be held in South Africa within the next couple of years. What an amazing achievement.

NSW Rugby League Schoolboy Trophy - State Final

The Kildare senior rugby league team recently traveled to Sydney to compete in the NSW Rugby League Schoolboy Trophy State Final at the prestigious Allianz Stadium. This experience was a dream come true for our young athletes who had worked tirelessly since the beginning of term 1. This team have progressed through the to the State Grand Final after claiming the Hardy Shield and backed it up by winning the NSW Country Cup. The thrill of making it to the Grand Final was only compounded with news that it would be held at Allianz Stadium - Moore Park Sydney.

During their trip to Sydney, the team had the privilege of visiting the Sydney Roosters Rugby League Centre, a state-of-the-art facility constructed just 12 months ago. They were warmly welcomed by NRL Star Jarrod Waera-Hargreaves, who generously led the boys on a tour of their training centre and Allianz Stadium whilst sharing insights into the rigorous preparations and post-game recovery routines of professional rugby league players. It was an invaluable learning experience that left a lasting impression on our team.

The Kildare team faced Hallam Secondary College from Melbourne in a hard-fought battle in the Grand Final. At halftime, Kildare was leading in what proved to be an intense showdown. Their exceptional teamwork and skill were evident, but as the game wore on, fatigue set in, leading to Hallam's late surge and victory. Despite the loss, our boys played with incredible spirit and sportsmanship. Representing both their school and themselves with pride, the Kildare team left everything on the field.

The experience of this event is sure to be a lasting memory with many unforgettable moments. The future looks bright for Kildare senior rugby league with the majority of this team being in year 11 and eligible to play again next year.

Well done to our year 12 students who were all great leaders of this team. Many thanks to Mr Ward and McNamara for all the work and time that they have sacrificed in coaching this side. It was an experience that the team will never forget.

Thanks

CWWHSSA Hockey Competition

In Term 3, the CWWHSSA Hockey competition ran over 3 weeks. The boys' team consisting of a number of players who have very limited experience playing hockey, finished the group stage with 2 wins and 2 draws which saw them into the final against a very strong TRAC side. The final was hard fought contest with TRAC having a large percentage of the possession, despite this normal time finished 1-1 with Jake Sullivan scoring a well taken goal. The game went into penalties with TRAC experience coming through and Kildare went down 4-2. Special mention goes to all the Year 12 boys for providing an inclusive environment for the year students, along with Ned Mackay and Michael Syzmanski, who played some skillful hockey. Well done boys.

The girls went down 1-0 to WWHS. Both teams played very well, especially with many students who had never played hockey before. Thanks also to our coaches:
