As the weather gets warmer, the daylight is stretching, and we get ready to welcome Spring, we realise we are already midway through Term 3. Our mid year receptions and new starts at Flourishing Hearts have settled in so well and throughout the school we are witnessing the students engaging in many wonderful learning opportunities and experiences.
Last week we celebrated Book Week with a variety of activities and a wonderful parade of book characters. The theme this year was 'Read, Grow and Inspire' and it was wonderful to see everyone engaging in reading a variety of books, growing their knowledge through reading and inspiring one another to appreciate the joy of reading.

As we look towards Father's Day, we reflect and celebrate the special men in our lives who help shape and influence us. We appreciate these 'special' days can be difficult for some families and we ask God's blessing and strength for all.
We are reminded of St Joseph, the father of Jesus of Earth, a man who Pope Francis depicts as ‘the man who goes unnoticed, a daily, discreet and hidden presence’. We have no record of anything he said, and very little is actually known about him. Yet he played a huge part in the history of salvation and the life of the Church and is held up as a model to all fathers." Pope Francis continues “Fathers are not born, but made. A man does not become a father simply by bringing a child into the world, but by taking up the responsibility to care for that child.” Jesus ‘saw the tender love of God’ in Joseph and through him, Jesus came to know his heavenly Father’s loving kindness and compassion. We pray to St Joseph to guide us, protect us and strengthen us everyday of our lives. Amen.
As you will be aware, Shannon Correll is on Renewal leave and has traveled to the Catholic University in Leuven in Belgium to study. I feel very blessed to be in the role of Acting Principal whilst Shannon is away and alongside Jason Puttnins and Michaela Edwards and all the staff, will continue to support St Brigid's community to the highest possible standard.
Please be aware that you are no longer able to park on Way Street opposite the school (North Side)to pick up your child/ren. This is now a NO Standing zone. The council will fine you if you park on that side. We will also not be walking children to cars who are not following the road rules. This keeps both our students and staff safe. Please collect your child at the front of the school on the south side of Way Street.
Please also remember to use the crossing... this is to keep you and your child safe.
We farewell Alana Del Medico at the end of Week 6 as she begins maternity leave and prepares for the arrival of baby Del Medico. We wish Alana and her husband, God's blessings for the new arrival and look forward to seeing photographs of the new baby.
Learning conversations are taking place in Week 7 (4th -8th Sep). Thank you to those parents who have already booked in to see their child's class teacher, working in partnership with parents is key to learning and we appreciate the opportunity to celebrate your child's progress through these conversations. If you have not yet made your appointment, please email your child's class teacher or contact the front office. Interpreters are available on request.
Thank you for your continued support,
Yours in Peace, Love and Learning,
