From the School Council

From the President  |  Parents and Friends Association | 2023 Council

As parents/guardians, we would all like our school to be a dynamic and innovative learning environment. We want the physical infrastructure to support our educational goals. With the significant building grant from the government, we have a rare opportunity to create a plan for Chelt.Sec that reflects a commitment to learning, creativity, collaboration, and inclusivity. The next stage will be appointing architects and briefing them to design the state-of-the-art spaces for learning and collaboration that our kids need and deserve. We are looking for the new buildings to meet the requirements of today's students and also anticipate the needs of future generations.

I’ve been working with school staff on an alumni web page – tracking down past graduates of the school to create a feature for the school website. I’m very impressed that graduates of Chelt.Sec includes a number of senior university academics, a bank CEO, leaders in sport, law, the arts and business. If you went to Chelt.Sec yourself or know someone who did, who might like to be featured on an alumni page, please get in contact!

In my house at the moment we have THREE young people in Year 12, two entering the frenetic VCE exam period and one powering through and completing VCAL (plus a younger sibling watching on with trepidation!). These school holidays will be all about study and exam prep for us. Whatever stage your young people are at, I wish your family all the best for the break and an energised final term of the year.

School Council President

Parents and Friends Association

We continue to seek interested parents and friends to join the Cheltenham Secondary College Parents and Friends Association (PFA).  We are not looking for you to single-handedly run all sorts of complex meetings or events. We simply want the PFA to have a large group of individuals willing to help at any fundraising or school events.  We want it to be a fun group of people rather than a burden and grind for those involved.

If you are interested in being added to our mailing list, please complete the PFA Expression of Interest survey.  To find out more contact Sharon: pfcheltsec@gmail.com

*If you have already completed the EOI, thank you.  We have your details and will be in touch soon.
