House Athletics Carnival

On the 21st of August Cheltenham Secondary College held a whole school athletics carnival for the first time since 2019.

On this day VCAL students, Harrison F., Marty J. and Leo B.-B. organised a barbeque to raise money for the Salvation Army, which was a big hit. The Salvation Army is an organisation that helps disadvantaged Australians without discrimination, including people who are hungry, homeless, abandoned or abused. This is an amazing organisation that Cheltenham Secondary College has supported many times in the past by raising money and arranging food drives. The boys in charge of the barbeque sold sausages for $2.50, sausages with onion for $3.00 and veggie patties for $2.50. All together they raised an incredible amount of $610.

The day went as smoothly as possible, with the sun shining and large participation from the younger year levels and the year 12s. It was an exciting and energetic day with everyone dressing up in fun and creative costumes. After a day of competitiveness and sport, Killara won overall. A huge shoutout to Sienna Sperring who won 55 points out of 820 for Killara.
