Ryan's Rambling

Dear Families,
A wild start to the weather this week; however we are currently enjoying the sunshine, which is a welcome relief for many. Perhaps, not so, to those who suffer from hayfever.
Last week’s Fun Run was a resounding success! Thank you so much to the many parents and community members who carved out the time to support, supervise and join in the fun. Our students certainly appreciated the claps and cheers as they stretched their endurance over the course of the hour. Some parents even brought along bubble machines and speakers for some further inspiration! We are finalizing the total amount raised for the event and we will announce this as soon as possible, with all proceeds going towards school Wellbeing and ICT.
This week, we begin our first of a series of school transition sessions. Your child will complete their ‘bus’ template over the next week. We have multiple sessions planned and, as most of you will know, we take a number of weeks to decide classes for 2026. I write this because students often go home after the first transition session believing that their class and teacher is already decided. Please be reassured that this is not the case, and we will not be finalizing our classes for a few weeks yet. Staffing for 2026 will be announced in the coming week, with just a couple of recruitment processes needing to be finalized. Thank you for your patience whilst we complete this important work.
We welcomed a curious and inspiring group of very young people into our school this week to complete another afternoon of transition activities. Yes, our 2026 Foundation Class is shaping up to be one filled with clever, articulate and inquisitive young learners, who will, no doubt, be ready to take on the world of Primary School with gusto and enthusiasm. The session was all about Numbers and our little people could certainly count well!
Have you seen the wall on the oval? Yes, our mural preparation is underway!!! Over the next couple of weeks our mural will come together and I am confident that it will impress. Our artist, Stephanie Cartledge, has done an amazing job of capturing Dana Street’s story in her design and I just can’t wait to see it all come together. There will be opportunity for community members to come together to help paint over the next few weeks, so please be on the lookout for times.
Have a fantastic weekend
Ryan 😊
