The Learning Zone

Far Out Science-UNE

On Wednesday, 5th November, fifteen students from Year 5 and fifteen students from Year 6, accompanied by Miss Murphy and Mrs Shortis, travelled to Armidale to attend an interactive science day at the University of New England (UNE). The event, called “Far Out Science Day,” was designed to spark curiosity and enthusiasm for science. UNE staff went above and beyond to engage the students, offering a range of exciting hands-on experiments with plenty of adult guidance and support.

The students participated in activities including a ‘Chemistry lock box’, ‘Physics sucks’, ‘Anti gravity creatures’, and ‘Saving Nemo’ just to name a few.

The day was a huge success! Many students couldn’t stop raving about science and sharing their favourite experiments on the trip home.
