Learning & Teaching

2026 Resource List is Now Available
Current students in Year 10 & 11 have already received their course confirmations for 2026 and our current Year 8 & 9 students will receive their confirmations by late next week. It is a significant undertaking to get to this point; from the publication of the handbook through to course counselling and subject preferencing, Andrew Lewis spends hundreds of hours creating and staffing a timetable to get the best outcomes and choice for our students.
Once courses are confirmed, parents can start to purchase the required resources for 2026 through our resource provider Campion. Campion is a One Stop Shop for all physical learning resources as well as payments for our digital learning platforms: Edrolo, Mathspace, Smart Lab and Education Perfect. It saves you time and money!
The 2026 resource list includes a mini-whiteboard and markers for every student. Mini whiteboards are a powerful way for teachers to assess students throughout the learning process. Teaching with mini whiteboards support students to understand, encode and recall key knowledge and skills during the lesson. This semester, teachers have been embedding the use of mini whiteboards to check for understanding and scaffold learning, through our Professional Learning work. This will continue to be a key teaching strategy for all teachers next year.
Our Business Manager, Peter Cameron, has negotiated a very favourable deal with Campion booksellers which includes: NO additional service fees, FREE home delivery and REDUCED COSTS on stationary items and some of our digital learning platform fees. Campion will also make a generous DONATION to the school to support our teaching and learning program. Thank you to Campion, and fantastic work Mr Cameron!

VCAA Assessors 2025
We are excited to have eight of our teachers be accepted as VCE Examination Assessors for 2025 which is a great outcome for the College. Assessing has many benefits that go far beyond marking of VCE exams.
It is an honour to be accepted by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority and a significant undertaking for those involved. Every teacher who has been an assessor in the past says it is the best professional development you can undertake and that it significantly improves their teaching knowledge and practice. Students in future VCE classes and other classes benefit from these improvements.
Good luck to:
- Peter Kos - Biology
- Di Wang - Chinese as a First Language
- Luke Mason - Business management
- Mel Zulfic - Software Development
- Danny van Bergen - Music Performance
- Ben Karwan - English Language
- Daniel Brooks - Physical Education
- Stuart Horner - Health and Human Development
- Sherry White - Geography
- Surya Ganesan - Foundation Maths
VCAA Exams Year 12 & 11
We have had a very successful examination program so far thanks to the careful planning and preparation from the Senior School team - especially Kirsten Holness and Elise Roper. Shout out again to the volunteer teaching staff who have given up their time to Check in with students prior to their exams and after they finish.
This week, the Year 11 students started their exams in Rees House. The Year 11 exam program is a valuable learning experience for students as it is a precursor to the exams students will participate in through the VCAA next year.
Year 11-12 Step-up Program

All Year 11 students will participate in seven days of Year 12 classes with four lessons for each subject. All the Subject Teams/OneNotes will be set up for the distribution of key resources for Step-up and holiday homework
Step-up Exam Feedback Program - all Year 11 Exams exams will be marked by Wed 26 Nov and feedback will be given on this date through the Year 11-12 step up program, as follows:
Period 3 - All exams returned and students supported to engage with teacher exam feedback - Senior School
Period 4 - English Exam Feedback Workshop - Senior Centre.
Term 4 Curriculum Day
Next week- Wed 19 November
This a student free day and staff will be exploring a whole school approach to harnessing and managing the impact of Artificial Intelligence in Education. Teachers well know that AI have both significant benefits to teaching and learning and present significant challenges when using digital tools in the classroom.
AI is being used by students and teachers to varying degrees and in varying ways and to establish consistent, appropriate patterns of use, in and out of class, we need a vision about how AI should be used.
