Student Achievement
The purpose of the Explore Program at Wantirna is to prepare our students for the 21st Century and to make them Global and Ethical citizens. In Explore teachers also have the opportunity to connect with students and parents to set and support learning goals It is through these discussions that precious information is often revealed.
Sometimes the quietest voices carry the most impact. The following quote “work hard in silence, let your success be your noise.” Is applicable to a student whose remarkable discipline, leadership and personal growth have truly set him apart at Wantirna College.
This term our school community is proud to recognise Levi Kingswell in Year 10. Levi’s powerful journey is a reminder that leadership isn't always loud. Levi not only has earned the respect of his teachers and peers but has been recognised globally for his interest in leadership sport, community and hope for the future.
Levi's journey into the sporting arena began when he was very young. In fact, after eight years of Karate training, Levi earned his black belt in this sport by the age of 13. A remarkable commitment and mark of self-discipline. Levi's journey doesn't end there. He has been an active member in Dojo leadership and a qualified black belt. He has also been awarded a Sempai Title allowing him to teach classes in Karate. As an instructor, he instructs and trains five days a week balancing school, study and commitments. His expertise and steady work are evident as he teaches karate to children aged 3 years to 13 years of age, giving back to the community in this way.

Many would describe that the mark of a true leader is not just about the title but in fact taking action and initiative. Persistence is one of the habits of highly effective leaders and Levi has taken initiative by becoming involved in the student leadership program, being part of group projects and supporting classmates when needed. Persistence involves staying with the task, resisting the urge to give up and continuing to work toward a goal even when it is difficult.
That is exactly what Levi has developed by reaching out and communicating to numerous world leaders and dignitaries. Levi has written over 56 personalised letters to political figures, royalty and businessmen and women seeking feedback on leadership, goals and strategies.
His initiative has been rewarded by the many responses he's received back from President Emmanuel Macron, King Charles III and Prime Minister of Canada, Mark Carney, Prince William, Prime Minister of New Zealand, Christopher Luxon, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and Member for Bayswater, Jackson Taylor.

Levi's efforts and work ethic are being recognised on so many levels. He successfully applied for an opportunity to shadow a member of parliament for work experience recently and was successful in his endeavour. Levi proudly represented Wantirna College for one week as he shadowed Minister Sonja Terpstra and witnessed life and work inside Parliament House. The reference provided by Sonja is a testament to his work ethic and character. Her feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and describes him as a student with strength of character and integrity.
What makes Levi’s story so powerful is that it's only the beginning. We are proud to officially introduce Levi to the wider school community and are excited to support and celebrate him as he continues to grow, lead and inspire others. Congratulations, Levi, on your outstanding personal development and well-earned recognition.
