Study Skills Seminars
Year 9
Over the past two weeks, Year 9 students had the chance to take part in two after-school Study Skills Seminars designed to help them prepare for their VCE subjects next year. The sessions were aimed at early start students but open to all Year 9s, giving everyone the opportunity to pick up some practical tips and strategies before heading into senior studies.
The seminars were extremely well attended, with students showing great enthusiasm and a genuine interest in developing their study habits. The sessions focused on organisation, note-taking, and effective study methods — all aimed at helping students feel more confident about the challenges ahead.
Student feedback was very positive:
“I learnt so many note-taking methods so I’m now more confident.”“I found these sessions informative and helpful, building my confidence for my next year VCE subject.”“The seminar allowed me to understand effective study methods on a deeper level, as well as learn effective note-taking methods for in class.”
It was fantastic to see so many students making the most of this opportunity and walking away with practical skills they can use as they begin their VCE journey.
