Message from the Principal
Dear parents, carers and friends of EEPS,
Welcome to a short week as we head towards the middle of the term. I hope that you had a break over the weekend and could enjoy the warmer weather on the Sunday.
Vicki Ward Visit
Last Friday, Vicki Ward, MP for Eltham, visited EEPS to present the 2025 David McKenzie Award to, Ruby J, one of our Year 6 students. Congratulations Ruby, it is certainly a very well deserved award and speaks to the value of being a quiet achiever. Ruby was nominated for this award for her ongoing kindness to everyone; enthusiastic support and encouragement with a determined and inclusive attitude. It is always lovely to welcome local MPs to the school. Whilst Vicki was here, I did take the opportunity to remind her about our funding wish list for the Masterplan and also the traffic issues around the school.
2026 Prep Classroom Visits
The third phase of our 2026 prep transition started today with the classroom visits. These will be repeated on Friday. We look forward to welcoming back our new 2026 students after their recent Art session.
Disco-JSC Fundraiser
The inaugural JSC disco will be running later this week. I would like to thank the JSC for their amazing efforts in the planning phase. They have tagged fundraising for an electronic noticeboard as the main focus for the activity. Whilst they know that we will not be able to achieve this in one hit, it is going to be a great start. Please see the separate Compass event with all the Disco information.
Voluntary Parent Contributions-2026-Helping to Maintain Our Programs
2026 plans are in full swing at EEPS. Later this week a separate Compass Newsfeed will be sent to all families detailing the categories and charges for parent payment contributions for 2026. The three categories are called: Curriculum Contributions, Other Contributions and Extra Items and Activities. (Further information on these categories is found in the attachments to the separate Compass Newsfeed). Once again, the staff, Leadership Team and School Council have formulated and set the suggested parent contributions to help EEPS continue to provide outstanding teaching and learning programs with very reasonable costs to parents. We are hoping for the continued strong and generous support from the EEPS community in this endeavour. The school has also conducted some research on comparable local schools in our Network, and the EEPS suggested contributions remain significantly lower than like schools.
Remembrance Day Service
Next Tuesday, 11th November, we are hosting our traditional Remembrance Day Service in the Hall. Parents and friends are very welcome to the Service which will start at 10.50 am. Some of our student leaders will also be representing the school at the Montmorency Eltham RSL service.
Have a great of Learning and Growing Together.
Kind regards
Warren Lloyd
Principal
