Sport

With all but one of our interschool sports to go for the year, we would like to take this opportunity to recognise some of our students and staff giving it their best at their respective weekend sporting pursuits.

South Australian Skeet Carnival Junior High Gun 287/300
Jack thanked SACTA and the International Clay Target Club SA for a great event.
Javelin
Kaden competed at the All-Schools Track and Field competition at Lakeside Stadium for the 3rd competition, in as many weeks. Kaden claimed the gold medal for the under 18 Boys with the 700gram Javelin. His results were outstanding - Foul; 52.11m; Foul; 48.86m – winning distance of 52.11m. Congratulations and best of luck with your future competitions. We know you have a lot more power and distance in your throws yet.
Metung Fun Run
It was great to see so many current and former staff and students enjoying the challenge of the 5km and 10km courses last Sunday. The weather held off long enough for the event to run smoothly, as well as allowing the athletes to suffer just the right amount. Congratulations Ms Townshend, placing first female in the 10km race and 2nd overall, posting a cracking time of 37:24.
Cricket
The Bairnsdale Cricket Association season 25/26 has started well, with many of our students playing across the association in all grades. If you get a chance get to a game and support the teams, you won’t be disappointed with the buzz of the action.
Lawn Bowls
Ayla has been competing at the U-18 National Championships in Devonport Tasmania. She is part of the Girls Triples Team representing Victoria, with day 1 of competition going very well posting 2 convincing wins against Tasmania and Western Australia. A loss on day 2 at the hands of New South Wales has them going into the final pool game with Queensland laser focussed. Good luck Ayla with the rest of the tournament.
Last Tuesday 11th November was a shock to our bones with the temperature plummeting to 7 degrees during the day with wind and rain as well. The lunch break activities in the BARC of Basketball and Badminton, were a huge hit and great way for many to warm up and stay dry. Have a happy and safe weekend.
