Year 7 Transition Day

This week we were delighted to welcome our 2026 Year 7 students to the 7–10 Campus for their Transition Day. From the moment they arrived, their enthusiasm and eagerness to get involved set the tone for a vibrant and memorable day.
Students participated in a wide range of engaging activities designed to introduce them to high school life and help them build confidence as they prepare for the year ahead. In small groups, they created colourful posters highlighting important Fitzroy High School policies, demonstrating not only creativity but also a thoughtful understanding of our shared expectations and values.
Throughout the day, students moved through taster sessions in Art, PE, Music, and Science. A highlight for many was the hands-on science activity—making slime!—which brought plenty of smiles and excitement. Whether they were experimenting in the lab, creating in the art room, or getting active in the gym, students embraced every challenge with positivity.
Perhaps most importantly, Transition Day gave students the chance to meet new peers and begin forming friendships that will support them as they enter Year 7. Watching them connect, collaborate, and laugh together was a wonderful reminder of the strong community spirit at Fitzroy High School.
We are delighted with this fantastic group of young people and look forward to welcoming them back as the Year 7 Class of 2026!
