Foundation

Foundation students have continued building their confidence in the PE space, focusing on core fundamental movement skills such as running, jumping, hopping, catching and throwing. They have become more aware of body control, personal space, and simple game rules. It has been great to see them participate with enthusiasm and develop a positive attitude towards being active.

Year 1

Year 1 students have built on their movement skills by applying them in a range of fun activities and small games. They have continued practising balance, coordination, and teamwork, while becoming more consistent with catching and striking skills. Students have also been working on following instructions and playing fairly with peers.

Year 2

In Year 2, students have continued combining movement skills in more complex activities, learning how to move with greater control and accuracy. They have practised using strategies in simple games, working collaboratively, and problem-solving during activities. Their confidence and readiness to try new challenges have grown throughout the year.

Year 3

Year 3 students have extended their fundamental movement skills into sport-specific drills and modified games. They have continued developing game sense, communication, and spatial awareness, while applying strategies such as defending space and creating passing options. Their resilience and teamwork have been a highlight this term.

Year 4

Year 4 students have continued refining their skills and are beginning to think more tactically during game play. They have explored attacking and defensive concepts across different sports and improved their ability to work effectively with a team. Students have also practised giving and receiving feedback to support each other’s learning.

Year 5

Year 5 students have continued developing more advanced movement and game skills, using strategic thinking during small-sided and full-game situations. They have demonstrated strong leadership, communication, and sportsmanship while working in teams. Students have also explored health topics such as wellbeing, goal setting, and the benefits of regular physical activity.

Year 6

Year 6 students have continued demonstrating maturity and responsibility in PE. They have celebrated their final weeks of primary school, playing new strategic games, applied tactical strategies, and supported others during team activities.
