Ofrenda - Dia de los Muertos

Dear Newlands Community,

As we prepare for the Newlands Ofrenda 2025, we warmly invite the children to participate in a special way. We ask that each child bring a small memento to contribute to the Ofrenda: this can be a portrait or a drawing of a loved one who has passed, or even a thoughtful note they’ve written.

Please ensure that any item—whether it’s a picture, drawing, or written thought—does not exceed 5 by 7 inches in size. It can be framed or unframed, whichever you prefer.

Throughout the upcoming week, our groups will visit the Ofrenda to learn more about this beautiful Mexican tradition and reflect on their contributions. The Ofrenda will also be open to the general public during the school fete. We appreciate your help in making this year’s Ofrenda a meaningful experience by sending something with your kids. Thank you for being part of this tradition.
