News from 5H

Term Four has brought non-stop action for our Grade 5 students, with many highlights to report on. With wonderful new experiences including Surf Camp, Speaking with Power and Visiting Brighton on the Bay & Classic Residences.

Speaking with Power is a 4 week long public speaking program where students develop their leadership and public speaking skills. Over the four weeks students learnt the integral skills to present a well develop speech, In week one students began with a one minute speech, each week building upon the time by one minute. The final week saw students present a 3 minute speech about a chosen topic. The winner’s in each class were Luke Parker (5H) and Ariana Kilibarda (5T).

Over the past three weeks the students from Grade 5 have been visiting the Brighton on the Bay & Classic Residences retirement home. The Grade 5 students have spent time interviewing the residents in teams to produce a biography of their life. We are so excited to head back to Classic Residences on Monday to present the residents with their very own published biographies.

Following our wonderful time on camp students drafted, edited and published their own camp magazines. Below is a camp magazine published by 5H students Maliss, Sofia and Noah (5H). Take some time to read through the magazine to learn more about Waratah Beach Camp.
