Year 3 Reconciliation

Reconciliation

On Tuesday, 28th November, our Year Three students made their First Reconciliation with Fr. Michael Gallacher in the church. It was a beautiful occasion, with the students coming with their families, at different times during the evening to receive this special sacrament. The students were well prepared by Tanya Huebner over this term. I would like to thank the families for participating so prayerfully on the night.

Student Reflections:

On Tuesday, for the Sacrament of Penance my parents came and my grandparents. I was nervous and really scared to talk to Father Gallacher. I was at the Church and my class was there. When I finally went up Father Gallacher greeted me nicely. He cleansed me and I felt really elated after we left.

Father Gallacher was really nice, and I felt a bit nervous but I feel really calm now. It was really quick but it was fine with me. We did it on Tuesday, but it was very special and it went really well.

On Tuesday, I did my Sacrament of Reconciliation. It was extraordinary, but I was nervous. But when I looked at my mum I got a boost of confidence and Father Gallacher was so nice he complimented my outfit. I was elated when I came off the altar and Ms Huebner was so supportive and I got a certificate.

On Tuesday I went to St Joseph’s church for my Sacrament of Reconciliation. The people who were at the church were Father Gallacher, Ms Huebner and Ms Jackson My Dad was there too. When I got there no one else was there. I sat down for a bit and then went up to Father Gallacher. I felt really nervous but I didn't feel it when I went up. It went really quickly, I thought It would go for a lot longer.

I felt nervous at church because I was talking to a person that I had never talked to. After I finished talking to Father Gallacher, I felt very relaxed and calm.
