Captaincy Reflections

Captaincy Reflections

School Captains:

This year has been one of the best years at St Joseph’s. We have accomplished so much as School Captains and we hope we have been a positive influence towards everyone.

This year as School Captains has been phenomenal, it has presented so many incredible opportunities and allowed us to not only progress as people but excel. We have been very happy with what we have achieved. We will definitely miss being here at St Joey’s, it has been such a massive part of our journey. We would like to thank the school for every single opportunity they have put forward to us and everyone.

Running assembly has been an incredibly large part of our role and it has boosted our confidence. Along with everything else it has been a great experience that we will remember for the rest of our lives. Meeting with Ms Moore has been a great experience, we always made so much progress even if it was a short meeting.

Attending SRC meetings has also been a big part of our role, we have made sure that the SRCs are able to enjoy their role and move along smoothly.

Writing the captains corner has also been such a great experience, it has been really fun.

It has been an honour to attend this school let alone be able to lead and help everyone.

We wish all our successors the very best of luck, we hope they have lots of fun and move this school further forward.

Thank you St Josephs, we love you and we will miss you.

STEM Captains:

This year as STEM Captain’s, we had lots of responsibilities such as making sure the technology was up to date and working, fixing technical issues and making it so that everybody understands how to use the technology to the best of its ability.                             It was also a lot of fun such as running a coding club, doing Science Week and also going to TwistEd Science. We both really enjoyed being STEM Captains and running for it at St. Joseph’s.

Community Captains:

During our last term we have been doing gardening club, mail and bins. In the gardening club we fix the secret garden, plant new veggies and fruit and pull out all of the weeds to make space. Miss Jo has been so lovely helping us and guiding us to make the secret garden a more sustainable and friendly place for classes and visitors to visit. When we do the mail we say “Hello, Good Morning/afternoon.” to Mrs Stone and Mrs Freeman. We find it so exciting to say hello to Mrs Stone and Mrs Freeman because they are extremely nice. Every single day we collect the mail at either the first or second break. When we do the recycling bins there are other people in our class to help because there are too many bins and classes. Recycling bins are very heavy depending on how heavy it is. The 3 of us are overly grateful for our leadership role.

Sports Captains:

We have had so much fun being the Sport Captains of St. Joseph’s for 2023.

It’s such an honour to lead your house at sporting events. One of the best parts is getting to lift the shield when your house wins!

Dressing up in tutus and colourful costumes really helped raise our spirits during the Swimming Carnival and Athletics Carnival.

One big highlight this year was soccer lightning premiership when Tom H scored the winning goal, what an unforgettable moment!

From supporting our team mates, encouraging everyone to try their best and having fun we’ve thoroughly enjoyed our captaincy roles.

We wish the very best of luck to next year’s Sport’s Captains and we are sure they will make great leaders!

Art Captains:

Hi we are the Art captains. During this past year we Art Captain had to participate in sewing club, art club and          club. It was really good to spend time sewing with Ms Karen. Everyone learned a lot about sewing in the sewing club. We made the Anzac flowers and presented our work to the whole school and they were very impressed with the work that we did. We painted the Nemo eggs and helped some of the younger children with their drawings. It was good spending time with threatening and  younger children. This term in the sewing club we have been doing Christmas activities that have been really fun. In the drama club we really improved our drama skills and played fun games. This has been a very good year for us Art Captains and we are sorry to leave.
